It took me 20 years guys… But we are going REAL RACING ON THIS CHANNEL!!! HELL YEAH!
In 2024 I will be racing in RENAULT CLIO CUP MID EUROPE with Team GM Sport! We gonna have even more content now on the channel with IRL racing! LETS GO!!!
My first idea to this went in December, I had some weird moment of thinking “Hey I’m not getting any younger, house market is never ending hunt that keeps getting away, Putin saying he will Nuke my country every day,…etc. I think now is the great time to go racing!” Idea was born and now execution was in order. Same as everything I’m very careful and I like to calculate things, of course as everyone I want to go GT racing but that is INSANE expensive plus crashing Porsche is huge difference versus crashing Renault Clio!
I always loved Clio Cup I even drove the Clio Cup car back in 2004 and 2005 for endurance racing and it was fantastic (way different than it is now I must say). So I asked one of partners for contact to Renault and I texted Clio Cup organisors to give me some informations and tips. I was first interested in doing Test with some team and see. Long story short, Renault was very excited and very helpful. They recommended few teams and I contacted them with interest in racing. Team GM Sport fell in my eye right away because owned didn’t speak much English and uses Google translator, and I instantly got very “Family” vibe. Which is exactly what I like. We talked about budget (I had two offers from two other teams and all offers very literally same so it was nice to see everyone is fair). So I found my team and then I did calculations if I can manage to do everything myself without getting broke or risking too much. I contacted my partners with the offer because I wanted to have mainly Simracing/Gaming companies involved in this and Coach Dave Delta and GT Omega and Venym were really excited about all this same as me. One of the reasons I also picked Renault Clio Cup is that it is INSANE championship with incredible close hardcore racing. I could have drive something in Czech with few cars but I want to learn as much as possible and learn from the best drivers in the Europe/World. You know me guys. I do the same in Simracing! 🙂
It took about 4 months to make sure everything goes green and is all done and done. I wanted to keep it as big secret as possible!:) And at the start of March (exactly year after me driving in Alpine GT4 experience) we had a two days of testing in Magny Cours! I could not wish for better conditions, it was dry -> little wet -> full wet -> flooded -> wet -> dry, which was fantastic to get to know the car a little better. For anyone wondering I have some experience from 20 years ago, but I’m gonna be honest. That was different life. I’m starting from total rookie scratch! 🙂 Long story short testing was fantastic, team was great and I had Valenin there to help me with translation. I fell in love with the car instantly, it is pure amazing racing car and I’m so curious about how much I can learn from this year.
I know a lot of people expect me to win or something, but one of the reasons I pick this championship is insane competition. Over 40 cars on track same conditions and top drivers in Europe, extremely talented. Races and even Quali are pure WAR ZONE! 😀 So as in simracing I’m very down to Earth here. My target is not to be last, don’t crash anyone in first races. David Perel said that by the end of the year I will be in the top 10. So let’s see if he is right! 🙂 I can’t want how much I will learn because the skill gain from this championship will be anything I’ve ever experienced, you can survive anything if you survive this! Calendar is fantastic, starting at Hockenheim in May, and Spa in the end of May. Then we have Magny Cours during GTWC in Summer and Barcelona during Hankook 24 Hours and finishing at Paul Ricard. Whole Europe season and even Mid Europe has incredible calendar. Let’s see what we can do! 🙂

After testing I feel quite confident that I will do at least average job. I find out that I can brake same as the best drivers, I’m quite good in high speed corners as well even better than my teammate who finished P13 in Europe last year. But my biggest weakness is special kind of trailbraking you have to do very late in to the apex (you can’t just send it) as its FWD car with no ABS. So time to focus on that!
